A few days ago Rocket went to his first day of obedience school for puppies.
He learned a few things in class and then took his homework with him.
Seems that he is to practice with me for 20 minutes a day.
We have been complying with the homework exercises and it is amazing how he is learning.
He responds very well now to the hand signals for sit, lay down. He is walking better today than yesterday with the loose leash walk and heel. Heel has been troublesome for him because I have to hold the treat a few feet in front of him and he keeps wanting to get to the treat before I take the step forward.
Today we made some real progress . At the end of the session we have play time and fetch. He tries so hard to please and you can really see him try. Of coarse he loves his treats. He learned something new yesterday that was not on the homework sheet, he now gives great big huggs, when I sit on the floor and tuck my heals behind my butt. I pat on my shoulders and say "huggs", he puts one paw on my knee and then the other paw on my shoulder then finally the second paw on my shoulder and give a great big hug. I must say it feels delightful.
